Sometimes closets are fancy....

How about it!

Considering the closet window faces the street and all their neighbors, it only seemed natural to cover up.  And, if you're going to cover it up, why not accentuate the curves and make it a little fancy while you're at it!

Builders love to make fabulously arched shaped windows.  And, homeowners love them, but at the same time tend to wonder what to do with them.  It's of course easier to run a straight rod or flat shade.  But, if you really want to respect the integrity of your home's aesthetic....  well, see below.

I think this may just be my favorite window ever.  :)

Home for the Holidays

We all have that friend that's giving us the countdown to Christmas.  Halloween is almost here. And, creeping up right after the  Jack-O-Lanterns and anxiety of what to "be" for Halloween comes the commercials, untangling the lights and the (so soon to be sick of hearing 24/7) Christmas music.

Are you ready?  Is your home ready for the holidays?  Time is a tickin...  Workrooms are a workin... (kind of like little elves)  all to get dining rooms and living rooms in tip top shape for the fa-la-la season.

Seriously, workrooms have deadlines for Thanksgiving and Christmas delivery.  If this holiday is your turn to entertain, maybe this is the perfect opportunity to give yourself the gift that keeps on giving all the year though.

Happy Holidays!!!

Oh...  and it's 66 days til Christmas :-)

Grown Up Drapery!

“Wow! I feel like a grown up now, living in a grown up house!”, was Marty's reaction when he came home to see his window treatments installed and complete.

Thanks Marty! This was a great treatment. I, personally, have never done a two story drape until now.  And, I was as blown away as the client was with the result.  My challenge...  specifying a rod that would hold the weight, finding carriers that will zing with ease and measuring two stories without a wavy tape measure.  ;-)

This drapery is massive and nothing short of magnificent. It feels like you’re in a boutique hotel. Both floors have changed incredibly with the new look, adding softness and warmth and connecting the overall two story space.

More photos coming soon...

Due to an unfortunate purge of files on my computer a few months back, I have lost most of my photos.  As recovery efforts continue through picasa, kodakgallery and flickr, I hope to post soon.

I hope.
